Tecklenburg Farms LLC was established on September 1, 2016 by Chris and Shawna Tecklenburg. The Mission at Tecklenburg Farms is to make nutritious food more affordable and accessible to all, serve the community, promote stewardship, and educate on health and wellness.
The small 6 acre urban farm is located in a neighborhood on the west side of Hendricks and 13th in Hutchinson, Kansas. Our small urban farm is operated by resourceful agriculturists who combine entrepreneurship, business skills, family labor, and knowledge to produce food and fiber products consumed by the local people.
All produce is grown in-ground while centering on improving, maintaining, and enhancing our healthy soil. A number of vegetables will be grown under plastic coverings. These enclosed plastic covered structures cover and protect crops from sun, wind, excessive rainfall, or cold, to extend the growing and harvest season in an environmentally safe manner.
